International Departure Fee still to go under Wellington Airport’s revised proposal
Wellington Airport has announced a revised pricing proposal that reduces the level of charges put forward in the initial proposal while still removing the International Departure Fee for passengers.

Wellington Airport considers feedback
Wellington Airport received a letter from Mayor Celia Wade-Brown this afternoon following yesterday's Council Meeting.
Wellington Airport CEO, Steve Fitzgerald said, "Over the course of the last week, we've had direct discussions with several Councillors and senior Council staff. We have listened and are aware of the range of views and were surprised by the apparent need for a motion."
"We are concerned by some of the comments being made in the media and on social media sites regarding the sign. The Airport is monitoring opinion closely on this matter and will continue to do so," Steve Fitzgerald concluded.
Wellington Airport will respond to the letter in due course.

WELLYWOOD's communication with HOLLYWOOD
The HOLLYWOOD Chamber of Commerce has released a statement that suggests it has not received any communication from Wellington Airport since March last year. Wellington Airport approached the HOLLYWOOD Chamber of Commerce on 6 May 2011 through the Chamber's lawyers. Although this does not change Wellington Airport's position in relation to proceeding with the Wellywood sign, Wellington Airport remains open to discussions with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Wellington Airport has announced today that the sign chosen to celebrate and promote Wellington's iconic film industry is WELLYWOOD. The 8m by 30m edifice will be the city's newest photo opportunity and is expected to appear on more than a few holiday snaps in the coming years.

Wellington International Airport annual results for the year ended 31 March 2011
Wellington Airport has had a busy year showcased by the successful completion of its new terminal development The Rock, progress on initiatives to further improve the Airport's services and facilities and good earnings growth despite a weak economy. This growth in earnings has allowed the Airport to deliver an excellent return to the Airport's many stakeholders including the Wellington City Council and Infratil shareholders. The dividend paid during the financial year to the Wellington City Council was $8.3 million.
