Wellington Airport VIP Programme - Terms and Conditions of Use

  1. By applying to join the Wellington Airport VIP Programme (VIP Programme) the applicant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions (Terms). These Terms are binding on all applicants and Members of the VIP Programme (Cardholders) regardless of the date on which members join or the manner in which they join the VIP Programme, and are subject to any other conditions imposed by Wellington International Airport Limited (WIAL) from time to time. "WIAL" means Wellington International Airport Limited and includes, where appropriate, WIAL employees, agents, contractors, officers and related bodies corporate. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Cardholder and WIAL and cannot be waived or varied without approval in writing of WIAL.
  2. To apply for a VIP Programme card (Card) and become a Cardholder, an individual must:
    • complete a VIP Programme application form (Application Form) and hand it in at WIAL;
    • complete an Application Form online at www.wellingtonairport.co.nz
  3. Only individuals can apply for a Card and a Cardholder may hold one Card only. WIAL may, in its absolute discretion accept or refuse any application for a Card. Employees of WIAL may apply to join the VIP Programme, but maybe excluded from specific offers and/or deals. Employees will be advised as to which offers/deals they are excluded from in email correspondence and/or at Point of Sale (POS).
  4. Cardholders must be over the age of 18 years old at time of sign up.
  5. Membership benefits only apply to the Cardholder as noted by the unique membership number displayed on the Card and may not be used in conjunction or combination with any other offer or promotion unless specified otherwise by WIAL in its promotional material. Cardholders who are employees of WIAL may be precluded from certain events and/or benefits including, entry to promotions, offers and deals.
  6. Cardholder rights are determined by WIAL from time to time and may include discounts for products purchased at WIAL retail outlets, Airport Retail Park stores and commercial partners, WIAL products and services, invitations to exclusive events, entry to promotions.
  7. VIP Programme Cards are not debit, credit or charge cards, are not redeemable for cash or transferable and remain the property of WIAL at all times. Cards must be returned to WIAL immediately on demand by WIAL.
  8. WIAL may, in its absolute discretion, at any time and without notice or giving reasons for its decision, cancel any Card.
  9. 9. Cardholder rights are valid until terminated or cancelled by WIAL (in its absolute discretion) or until the Cardholder notifies WIAL in writing to Wellington Airport VIP Programme, Wellington Airport, Main Terminal, PO Box 14175, Wellington 6241, New Zealand, that he or she wishes to terminate their membership. If membership is terminated the Cardholder must return the Card to a WIAL by mail to Wellington Airport VIP Programme, Wellington Airport, Main Terminal, PO Box 14175, Wellington 6241, New Zealand.
  10. WIAL is not responsible for stolen or lost Cards or Cards that are used fraudulently. The Cardholder must report a stolen or lost Card to WIAL at vip@wellingtonairport.co.nz. The Cardholder's existing Card will be cancelled and a new Card issued at cardholder’s expense.
  11. Any questions regarding the VIP Programme should be referred to vip@wellingtonairport.co.nz
  12. WIAL reserves the right to suspend or terminate the VIP Programme at any time without prior notice to Cardholders.
  13. WIAL shall not be liable in any way if benefits or promotions are unavailable for any reason including, without limitation, as a result of a technical malfunction, operator fault, errors resulting from computer hardware or software errors or failure.
  14. All benefits are limited to the period advertised and are subject to availability. WIAL may, in its absolute discretion, at any time and without notice or giving reasons for its decision, cancel any offer, benefit, event or promotion.
  15. The VIP Programme, components of the VIP Programme and its associated promotions may be amended or withdrawn by WIAL at any time without notice and WIAL is not liable to any cardholder for any injury, loss or damage in these circumstances.
  16. All discounts, offers and promotions for Cardholders for purchases of WIAL products & services, WIAL retail outlets stores and commercial partners are subject to availability.
  17. Cardholder discounts are not negotiable, non transferable and are not redeemable for cash.
  18. A Cardholder must produce their Card if seeking any discount or other benefit offered to Cardholders, or upon request by WIAL.
  19. WIAL does not warrant in any way that any discounts or benefits for Cardholders will be available at any particular time or times or in any particular place.
  20. To the fullest extent permitted by law, WIAL gives no warranty and shall have no liability in respect of goods or services provided to Cardholders or as to the accuracy of any description or information about such goods or services.
  21. WIAL is not liable in any way whatsoever for any injury or loss (including any indirect or consequential loss) of any kind to person or property suffered by any Cardholder whether by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, of WIAL in connection with the VIP Programme, including injury or loss incurred whilst participating in any activity of the VIP Programme or WIAL or in any activity in which Cardholders are invited to participate. This condition is subject to any liability which may not be lawfully excluded, in which case such liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  22. To the fullest extent permitted by law, WIAL makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any goods or services offered as prizes in promotions or competitions.
  23. Cardholders indemnify WIAL for and against any loss or claim suffered or incurred by WIAL arising from or in connection with a breach of these terms and conditions by a Cardholder.
  24. WIAL reserves the right to vary these Terms at any time for any reason and without notice to Cardholders. A copy of the current Terms may be viewed at www.wellingtonairport.co.nz
  25. WIAL holds and uses a Cardholder's personal information in accordance with WIAL's privacy policy (a copy of which may be viewed at www.wellingtonairport.co.nz).
  26. Any decision taken by WIAL in connection with any aspect of the VIP Programme will be binding and final on each Cardholder.
  27. For the avoidance of doubt, these Terms supersede and replace any and all previous terms and conditions in connection with the VIP Programme.
  28. If any clause of these Terms, or any part of any clause, is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable, then that part shall be severed and the remainder of the Terms shall continue in force. Terms importing the singular include the plural and vice versa. The words "include" and "including" and other cognate words and expressions are to be construed without limitation. References to persons and people include incorporated entities.

This Privacy Policy discloses Wellington Airport information gathering and dissemination practices. It describes:

  • what information is gathered;
  • how this information is used and stored;

Information about cardholders will be collected by Wellington Airport and held at Wellington Airports' Corporate Office in Wellington. This information will be used by Wellington Airport, and its commercial partners, to provide services relating to the Wellington Airport VIP programme including membership, usage and market research. Information from the database will also be used by Wellington Airport for marketing purposes, planning, product development and research.

Each member consents to the collection and use of their personal and other information in the manner set out above and the disclosure of such information to Wellington Airports’ commercial partners for the purposes of operating the Wellington Airport VIP programme. Information about members may be disclosed to a participating company if:

  • the relevant member consents in writing; or
  • Wellington Airport considers on reasonable grounds that that disclosure is necessary to enable the recording of transactions of those members; or
  • Wellington Airport considers on reasonable grounds that the member may have been involved in fraudulent activities in relation to that participating company.

Information about members will not be provided by Wellington Airport to any person except as provided in this Privacy Policy.

Members have the right to opt out of mailings, by writing to Wellington Airport, Main Terminal, PO Box 14175, Wellington 6241, New Zealand.

Members may, under the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993, request access to and correction of their personal information held by Wellington Airport. These requests must be in writing. A fee may be charged for the reasonable costs incurred in responding to these requests. Any such fee will be disclosed to the member before it is incurred.

This document should be read in conjunction with the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993 legislation. This Act is designed to promote and protect individual privacy and is consistent with international privacy principles. Wellington Airport is dedicated to keeping your member details safe and secure from scams and fraud. Your personal details will only be used to keep you informed about special offers, deals, news and airport events from WIAL and WIAL's partners by either mail, email or txt ('electronic messages')

Please note that Wellington Airport will never send you an email asking you to disclose your Member Number or any other personal details. Be suspicious of any email with urgent requests for such personal information as there is a high chance such communications are fraudulent.
